Cape Girardeau Public Schools wants to make sure our families know about a free service available through the Southeast Missouri Food Bank.
The Food Bank collaborates with local partners, including churches, businesses, and civic groups, to bring mobile food pantries to communities throughout our region. These mobile pantries are trucks filled with a variety of food items that are distributed by volunteers at different locations.
How to Get Help
If your family needs food assistance, you can visit a mobile food pantry in the community or county where you live.
Here’s what you’ll need to bring:
A photo ID
A piece of mail (like a utility bill) that shows your address
Important guidelines:
Each household can receive one box of food
Two boxes max per vehicle, and only if they are for two different households with two different addresses
What to Expect
Most mobile food distributions are drive-through. Please:
Make sure your vehicle has space cleared for the food
Bring a bag or box to carry the food, just in case it’s not a drive-through event
